MODIS Veg Indices MOD13/MYD13 V061 (NASA LP DAAC)

25 years of global NDVI and EVI at 250m — the deep historical record Sentinel-2 can't reach.

What this is

MODIS Vegetation Indices (MOD13/MYD13 V061) deliver 16-day composited NDVI and EVI at 250m–1km globally, 2000–present. Available via Earthdata, GEE, AWS Open Data, and COG. No restrictions on use, sale, or redistribution.

Why we surface it

Sentinel-2 starts in 2015. For any question requiring more than a decade of vegetation history — long-run productivity trends, multi-year drought impacts, phenological shift — MODIS is the only open record that goes far enough back.

What you can do with it

Shown for commercial use. Personal, research, and nonprofit use is often more permissive — switch the verdict lens on the catalog.
