What this is
SRTM produced near-global 30m elevation data in 2000. Coverage runs 60°N–56°S. Available via NASA Earthdata, OpenTopography, Google Earth Engine, and AWS.
Why we surface it
Copernicus DEM GLO-30 is preferred where its terms apply, and is now globally complete, including Armenia and Azerbaijan. SRTM is the fallback for contexts where a hard public-domain requirement rules out an attribution-required alternative.
