VIIRS NDVI CDR (NOAA NCEI)
The forward-going successor to MODIS NDVI — keeps the long vegetation record alive from 2014 onward.
What this is
NOAA's VIIRS NDVI Climate Data Record (CDR) is a climate-quality NDVI product at 0.05°, continuing the AVHRR and MODIS long-term vegetation record from 2014 to present. Available via NOAA NCEI and GEE. US Government work, open.
Why we surface it
MODIS is aging out. The VIIRS CDR is the forward-going continuation of the global NDVI series, designed to bridge the records. When MODIS ends, this keeps the chain intact.
