OpenET monthly evapotranspiration (CONUS)

Field-scale ET via ensemble of remote-sensing models. Personal/noncommercial use only; commercial use requires written permission from the OpenET consortium.

What this is

Monthly evapotranspiration estimates per field at 30m resolution across the contiguous US. OpenET runs an ensemble of six remote-sensing-based ET models and returns the median, with uncertainty bounds. Updated monthly. License note: OpenET is NOT CC-BY — restrictive custom ToS granting only personal, noncommercial use. Commercial use (sell/resell/commercially use) is prohibited; integration requires explicit written consent; derivatives are treated as OpenET IP. See etdata.org/terms-of-service.

Why we surface it

ET is the most actionable open water data in US ag. Knowing how much water a field is using, vs. neighbors, vs. last year, is what makes irrigation decisions and sustainability claims credible.
